Healthy and Fun Office Snacks For Work

It’s really easy to refill your coffee cup at two or three pm, for the second time of the day! However that cup of coffee is only tricking your body into being full and energized for a short while and it’s only a matter of time until you’ll feel like you need more. Instead we want to show you how providing your body with the proper nutrients, vitamins, and protein it needs will help you stay full for longer and keep your energy up.

One snack you should always keep in your office drawer is a jar of homemade mixed nuts. Try filling this jar with low carb nuts that are full with healthy fats that will keep you going until dinner. Try mixing raw almonds, pecans, cashews, raw sunflower seeds, and raw pumpkin seeds. You can also add small chocolate chips, dried fruit, or a healthy granola to the mix. Dried fruits like dried apricots, dried cranberries, or dried pineapple can have the same chewy consistency as candy or the crunch of a chip. Dried fruit gives your sweet tooth an afternoon fix while filling your body up with fiber.

Another great option is a healthy bag of popcorn or homemade popcorn. There are some great brands that make their popcorn with olive oil or coconut oil and you can add dried rosemary and pepper for seasoning. Trader Joe's has some great options of different kinds of popcorn. One of our favorites is their Kettle Popped Popcorn Chips filled with chia seeds, flax seeds, whole quinoa, and sunflower seeds. Also packing each item into separate jars will help you control the portion sizes, rather than reaching for the entire bag of popcorn.

You should try dark chocolate covered nuts or fruit to snack on in the afternoon. Having a little bit of dark chocolate actually has many benefits and will also satisfy your sweet tooth. Pairing the sweet flavors with something salty like a pistachio is going to leave you happy while giving your body the proper proteins it needs. Be sure to keep your jars with chocolate in your Freezable Mini Lunch Bag to keep your chocolate from melting away.

On the weekend before you go into the office, slice a bowl of fresh fruit and mix it together. Bring a small amount in a Tupperware or jar to snack on in the afternoon at work. Fresh fruit can be paired well with a handful of your mixed nuts or popcorn. String cheese, vegetables or crackers paired with humus, and edamame beans are great pairings to snack on that will be filled with protein to boost you through the rest of the day.

In the picture above we show you how you can pack your cold items in separate jars and store them in your Freezable Mini Bag. This bag is the perfect size to store on your desk at work to ensure no one will steal your snacks!
