Valentine's is the day where you receive more chocolate than you might ever need! Today we are showing you a way to reuse and remake your leftover chocolate into a healthy quick snack! The process is simple and quick and makes for the perfect snack when you need to satisfy your sweet tooth without feeling guilty!
What You'll Need:
- Plain leftover chocolate
- Coconut Oil
- Ice Cube Tray
- Fillings to add to your chocolate such as:
- Coconut shreds
Shred your chocolate into fine pieces by chopping it with a knife. You then want to add into a glass measuring cup with a teaspoon of coconut oil. Warm in the microwave until chocolate is fully melted. (Our chocolate melted in 3 minutes, depending on your microwave this time may vary.)
Once the chocolate is melted take your ice cube tray and coat each cube well with oil. This will allow your chocolate sticks to pop out easier after they are frozen. You then want to then pour a small amount of chocolate into each cube.
(Essentially right now you are creating a mold to then add your toppings into. You will also need chocolate to cover after adding your ingredients, so do not add too much chocolate during this step.)
You'll want to tilt your ice tray from side to side or in a circular motion to make sure you coat the sides of the cube as best as possible! Then add in your desired toppings.
Once you finish filling your cubes, pour the remainder chocolate to cover each cube, making sure you have enclosed the cube and can no longer see your toppings. You will then place the tray into the freezer for about 10-15 minutes. After 15 minutes check to see if your cubes are frozen, if not leave in for 5 - 10 more minutes. Once they are frozen pop them out of the tray like you would a normal ice cube.
Enjoy these chocolate sticks by themselves or with milk! The best part about these treats is once they're all mixed together you'll never know which fun filled chocolate stick you'll get next!
Pack these to-go for a mid day snack in your PackIt bag to keep them cold! If you enjoyed this recipe and would like to see more like this, let us know below! Or share with us your photos of this recipe by #packitcoolrecipe
