How long do PackIt Lunch Bags stay cold?

Once they’re frozen, PackIt bags can keep food cool for up to 8 hours, depending on external temperatures.

How long does it take to freeze PackIt bags?

PackIt bags need to freeze for at least 12 hours in the freezer to achieve optimal cooling power.

If you’re freezing more than one PackIt at a time, space them apart from each other in the freezer and freeze for at least 12 hours.

Can I use PackIt for hot items?

As long as you don’t freeze it first, PackIt will provide insulation to keep your hot items toasty-warm.

Does PackIt work without ice?

PackIt bags have freezable gel built right in to their walls, so all you need to do is freeze the bag. No additional ice or ice packs necessary!

Does PackIt work for products other than food?

Yes! Drinks, smoothies, pet treats, breastmilk, formula, teethers, and more. Really anything that needs to stay cold!

How/where should I store my PackIt bag?

PackIt bags fold flat for easy storage. You can keep them anywhere, but if you keep them in the freezer, you’ll always have a portable fridge-like ready to go!

Can I use PackIt bags for my lunch?

Are these designed for drinks?

Are the bags padded?

Every freezable PackIt bag is designed with insulation and freezable gel built into the walls of the bag.

What is the difference between the Freezable Snack Bag and the Freezable Snack Box?

Just the size and shape. Choose the one that will best fit your contents, freeze it, and enjoy cold food and drinks for hours!

How are PackIt products manufactured?

PackIt products are responsibly produced with high-quality materials that won’t break down after only a few uses like inferior products do. To keep you safe, we use only food-safe, nontoxic materials that are free of harmful substances, such as PVC, BPA, phthalates, formaldehyde and lead. All our products are tested by independent, accredited third-party laboratories and have met all current U.S., Canadian and European safety standards.

Is it okay to put dry ice in my PackIt Bags?

NO! Dry Ice’s C02 gas needs room to expand, and it could cause your cooler to explode. No one want that!

Are PackIt Bags TSA Approved?

Per the Transportation Security Administration, freezer packs are allowed in carry on bags (with special instructions). For checked bags, frozen liquid items and gel packs are allowed through the checkpoint as long as they are frozen solid when presented for screening. Please note: The final decision rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through checkpoint. Please visit tsa.gov for more information.

What are your containers made of?

We use high quality materials that are food safe and BPA free such as clear, glass-like Tritan® plastic base, high-density polyethylene lids and food grade silicone seals.

What makes your bentos different?

PackIt's patented Mod Bento Containers are designed for the person who wants to pack a variety of food with less containers.

Are the bentos leak-proof?

Mod Bento Containers have leak-resistant dividers so visous liquids aren't creeping into sections. Perfect for eaters who do not want food touching!

CLEANING

How do I clean the bags?

Hand wash the interior of your PackIt bag with mild soap and warm water, or wipe thoroughly with an all-purpose antibacterial wipe. You can spot clean the exterior with a gentle sponge. Allow the PackIt to air-dry completely with the flap open before freezing to prevent frost from forming. PackIts are not washing machine-, dryer-, dishwasher- or microwave-safe. Please do not use bleach or any chemicals other than mild laundry detergent to clean the bag.

Are the PackIt Lunch Bags resistant to mold?

Though freezing the PackIt may kill some forms of mold that would form in other coolers, we can’t guarantee it. We recommend regular cleaning of PackIt bags to prevent bacteria from growing inside. Whether you’re using soap and water or a wet wipe, allow the bag to air-dry completely before freezing to avoid the formation of frost.
